Tribute To Mom

To my mom, through whom I found

My interests that were tied and bound

‘Til middle-age, when I searched for me

I searched for things to try

I’d been at your side to observe and see

Your watercolor grow by stage and scope

I held aloft landscape-borne trees

Brush strokes well-noted as I dared to hope

and secretly, I’d try

Books about writing line the walls

Where penned inspiration gently touched

Characters nurtured from their insides out
I know the love I felt exhaled

Inspiring me to try

From choral works to private voice teacher

The toughest conductors couldn’t change your choice

To fire up for artistic endeavor

Bigger than yourself

Passionate and party to composers life

…and I have learned how to gracefully fail
